Application Procedure for LAB Recognition Scheme (LRS)

The following steps must be considered when applying for the Laboratory Recognition Scheme:

1. First fill out the application form. Collect proper documents for the laboratory recognition scheme. The application is submitted to the authorized laboratory of the BIS with authority over the cases
2. BIS Laboratories staff will review applications and verify documents. The application must meet the BIS Requirements. If the application meets the standards, the officer will record it for further processing.
3. Auditors shall be hired based on BIS requirements. The lab would get information from the audit team within 7 days. The BIS would generally perform the audit 15 days after receiving the certificate of compliance.
4. Auditor conduct an initial audit to fix laboratory compliance with the recognition scheme. If they have allowed the laboratory to be recognized, they must follow the terms and conditions. Once the auditor is satisfied, the Laboratory Recognition Scheme certificate will be issued.
